Step into an unforgettable evening of rhythm, sophistication, and global sound with the Mitchell Long Trio.
Led by internationally acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Mitchell Long, the trio delivers a vibrant blend of Brazilian jazz and world‑influenced repertoire. With over four decades in the music industry, Long is a seasoned concert performer, veteran studio musician, and confident band leader. His work spans jazz, blues, and popular North American styles—classic rock, pop, folk, R&B, and soul—alongside deep expertise in Brazilian, Cape Verdean, Angolan, and other global music traditions, showcased through his multilingual singing and playing.
Mitchell Long’s recent credits include extensive touring and recording with jazz chanteuse Melody Gardot since 2012, as well as collaborations with Herb Alpert, Waldemar Bastos, Carol Welsman, and Keiko Matsui.
On drums is Lúcio Vieira, a renowned Brazilian drummer and educator originally from Manaus, with deep roots in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, now based in Los Angeles. His impressive résumé includes work with Leny Andrade, Gilberto Gil, João Donato, Sérgio Mendes, and Larry Coryell, along with a Latin Grammy Award (2012). Equally at home in traditional Brazilian rhythms, fusion, and jazz, Lúcio also teaches at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Learn more: www.luciovieira.com
On bass is Nando Raio, a producer, composer, and bassist from Minas Gerais, Brazil, now living in Los Angeles. His credits include collaborations with Andra Day, Mike Garson, Arthur Verocai, Robin Thicke, David Foster, Common, Bob Sheppard, and Otmaro Ruiz. Nando has performed at prestigious venues and events such as the Newport Jazz Festival, The White House, Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl, Austin City Limits, The Oscars, and the NAACP Awards.
