Jazz, as a universal language of peace, is celebrated each year on 30 April, by decision of Unesco and its Member States, a decision adopted at the General Assembly in 2011 in the city of Paris. This year, Unesco's Director-General Audrey Azoulay makes an announcement and remembers Martin Luther King, who spoke about the essential role of jazz in creating a sense of African American identity.
