Mitchell Long and his quintet "Banda" playing live on KUVO radio in Denver Colorado. Featured track on "Live At the Oasis vol.3" (KUVO RECORDS) Mitchell long - composer, guitar & voice, Eduardo Bijoux Barbosa - bass, Bob Rebholz - sax, Jeff Jenkins - piano, Claudio Slon on drums. This quintet led by Mitchell Long featured the legendary Brazilian drummer Claudio Slon. The quintet enjoyed success playing local concerts, jazz festivals and club dates in Colorado. The group also worked for several years as the house band at Vartan jazz club in Denver.

On a personal note I would like to dedicate this to my dear friend and musical colleague Claudio Slon who was a constant source of inspiration and one of the greatest musician - drummers I ever had the pleasure to work with. I miss his friendship and music dearly.
R.I.P. Claudio Slon.

Brazil Explore interview

Mitchell Long Group

"Brazil Explore" the website visited our regular Sunday night gig at "The Shore" in Hermosa beach and did an interview with the Mitchell Long Group. Brazil explore magazine also did an article in October 2009 on me. It is available on their web site. Hopefully you can pick out and hear a little of the music here (I wish they would have included a little more of us playing because it was a stellar residency gig and great band)

Mitchell Long with Melody Gardot

Avo Sessions, Basel Swtzerland

Here is a link to a show in Basel Switzerland called "Avo Sessions" with Melody Gardot. On this evening we were featured with Herbie Hancock. There is a lot of my work on tour in 2012 with Melody Gardot available online to see and some performances are better than others but I chose this one because it has a decent sound, video production and is enjoyable to watch.

Melody Gardot Later on Jools Holland show 1

Playing the Jools Holland show is probably the number one TV gig in the world and so it was a pleasure to perform a couple songs with Melody.

Mitchell Long with Maria de Barros Band

Marie Galante

Here is a song with one of my favorite rhythms from the French Antilles: Biguine. We wrote this song together on the island of Guadeloupe after a very inspiring trip to the jazz and Blues festival on the island of Marie Galante. This whole show is available in separate videos - just search on youtube for: Maria de Barros Teatro Armando Cortez Lisboa Portugal 17 Maio 2008

Mitchell Long solo at Novel Cafe

Making Changes

Here I am in a noisy cafe singing an original song called Making Changes. The noise in the cafe is a little distracting but its a fun song and thought I would share it here. I had just wrote the song and it was the first time I ever performed it live...

Cabo Verde Cretcheu

Charmosa (Manuel D'Nova)

Here is a clip of me singing the old classic Morna with Cabo Verde Cretcheu, the group formed by myself and Cape Verdean singer Dilma Barros.
